Gossip and Reception
At release, Astro Bot was received exceptionally well by
critics, making it the highest rated title for the PlayStation 5
for 2024. Some tout Astrobot as the best platformer ever
made. With all 9s and 10s from critics and publishers, Astro
Bot is known for utilizing the most out of the Dual Sense
Controllers, and unique power abilities mixed with clever level design.
The few critiques noted was boring enemy design and some extremely difficult levels.

Third person 3D
platforming where
the player must
rescue robots
across
80 different levels
on 50 unique
planets. V.i.P bots
resembling
PlayStation iconic
characters can
also
be found and
recruited. Jump,
hover, spin attack
and punch are the
core abilities. The
player can
utilize 15 different
abilities to
traverse and aid
in combat
throughout the
campaign. Coins
can
be picked up to
buy items in a
gotcha machine.
Astro Bot has
several tie
ins with
characters from
other PlayStation
titles.
Storyline
Astro and his
crew gets
attacked by a
Bully named
Nebulax while
traversing the
galaxy in their
spaceship.
Nebulax steals
their CPU
and unloads an
attack on the
spaceship. After
their ship
explodes,
Astro falls onto a
desert planet and
begins his search
and rescue
for fellow crew
members. The
spaceship
reactivates and
provides
the whereabouts
of crew members
and ultimately the
CPU stolen
from Nebulax.
